Algorithmic Control in Hospitality Workplaces: The Impact on Employee Well-beingThe topic of algorithmic control has recently been at the forefront of controversy in the management literature. The rise of algorithmic management is considered as one of the most disruptive forms of technological change in the direction of personnel, with considerable potential impact on employee well-being. I explore the mechanisms of algorithmic control - both normative and rational and construct a framework of worker well-being in algorithmically managed workplaces by investigating the interplay of algorithmic tools of control, algorithmic affordances, and components of workplace experience.
