Reimagining the Family: Critical Insights from Radical Right Populist DiscourseBeatrice Mentasti is a PhD candidate in Politics at the University of Surrey.
She graduated from a Msc in Politics and Communication from the LSE Department of Media and Communication (UK). She received a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the IE School of Politics, Economics & Global Affairs (Spain).
Her current research examines the use of family in Populist Radical Right discourse, focusing on how Populist Radical Right Parties (PRRPs) frame family-related issues and construct and normalise a certain type of family. The project aims to identify how PRRPs shape family discourse in politics and the media, exploring strategies for advocacy groups to counteract these narratives.
