Dr Arun Prakash Periasamy
About
Biography
Arun received his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry with a specialization in electrochemistry from the National Taipei University of Technology, Taiwan in June 2011. He was awarded Taiwan Government Scholarship for pursuing his Ph.D. degree. He worked as a Postdoctoral research associate in Dr. Ana Jorge Sobrido's Advanced Sustainable Energy Materials group at Queen Mary University of London from Nov. 2018 to May 2020. He also worked as a Postdoctoral research fellow in Prof. Huan-Tsung Chang’s Bio and Nano Analytical group at National Taiwan University from Nov. 2011 to 2018. Arun is currently a Research Fellow at the University of Surrey in Prof. Varcoe’s research group where he works on the development of radiation grafted alkaline anion exchange membrane fuel cells.
ResearchResearch interests
Arun's research interests focus on the preparation of functional carbon nanocomposites and photoluminescent carbon nanomaterials for biosensing, photocatalysis, oxygen electrocatalysis, and hydrogen evolution reaction. His current research at Prof. Varcoe's group focus on the development of the next generation of anion-exchange membranes for use in alkaline membrane fuel cells and alkaline water electrolyzers.
