Biography
Anthony Speaight practised at the Bar in London from 1973 to 2021. He was appointed a QC (now KC) in 1995, and elected a Bencher of Middle Temple in 2004.
He was Chairman of the Editorial Board of Counsel, Journal of the Bar of England & Wales (1991-5). He has held various position in the Bar Council, including Chairman of the Access to the Bar Committee (2004-6).
He was a member of the Government Commission on a UK Bill of Rights (2012). He has been a member of the Council of the Society of Construction Law.
In 2021 he received the Bar Pro Bono Unit’s Lifetime Achievement Award for Pro Bono work.
He currently teaches the law of contract at the Cambridge University School of Architecture, and advocacy at Middle Temple; and supervises dissertations on the King’s College London MSc course in construction law.
