Annette Davies
About
Prior to commencing at Surrey I was a Lecturer Practitioner at King's College Hospital and The Florence Nightingale School of Nursing and Midwifery, King's College London for twelve years and at University Hospital Lewisham for a year prior to that. I have also been a ward sister on a busy Acute Nephrology Ward at King's College Hospital and involved in setting both high dependency beds and intensive care level three beds in different clinical areas.
Teaching
I teach acute and critical care across health and social care within the School. I contribute to Practice Module 1, Transitions, Physical Health Sciences and Transition Care on the Pre Registration Curriculum. I also teach Principles of Acute and Critical Care on the Foundation Degree Programme. I also contribute to the Continuing Professional Development Programmes and am the module lead for Development of Clinical Practice (ITU).
I have been a member of the Acute Kidney Injury NICE Guideline Development Group, producing the NICE AKI guideline published on the 28th August 2013. I was a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh UK Consensus Conference on "management of acute kidney injury : the role of fluids e-alerts and biomarkers" I am the co-founding consultant editor of the Journal of Renal Nursing, and an editorial Board Member of Renal Society of Australasia Journal.
