Ameer Choudrie
About
Biography
Ameer is an Actor, Educator and Facilitator.
Alongside acting, Ameer has worked as a Freelance Associate Artist for the National Youth Theatre and a Freelance Facilitator for the The Old Vic.
He has also facilitated workshops on the themes of Unconscious Bias and Cultural Diversity Training for Talawa Theatre Company and was part of the Inc Arts Training Team delivering Anti-Racism sessions across the UK Arts Sector.
Ameer has also spent time working as the Widening Participation and Outreach Officer at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), Visiting Lecturer at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Visiting Practitioner at Fourth Monkey Actor Training and Drama School and as a Course Leader for a BA Honours Acting for Stage and Screen course.
Situated within Actor Training Institutions, Youth Theatre and Community Based Organisations, Ameer focuses on promoting positive evolution within the Theatre Industry through embodying a practice of widening access and participation to all demographics that are a representation of today’s society, working positively towards outreach and reaching those communities that have been underrepresented for so long.
At GSA - Guildford School of Acting, Ameer is a Senior Lecturer in Acting and the Programme Leader for both Foundation (Cert He) Acting and Foundation (Cert HE) Musical Theatre Courses.
Ameer also works as UEFA qualified Licensed Football Coach supporting the Grassroots Game of Football. As a Community Champion working for the FA, Ameer is part of a workforce working with Regional Local Bodies to support the growth of affiliated & recreational football for all communities who are currently disproportionately represented across the game.
