In consensual non-monogamous relationships, all partners agree to engage in multiple sexual or romantic relationships. This research found evidence that individuals in these types of relationships — whether gay or straight — tend to be viewed as less human and more animal-like; people in consensually non-monogamous relationships may face more dehumanisation than individuals in same-sex relationships.
