Success at social media and digital marketing course

In May, the Centre for Research and Enterprise at the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management hosted a one-day social media and digital marketing course designed for professionals in the hospitality and tourism industry to help define what social media means for their business, brand and future.

In attendance were marketing professionals who were given practical tips on how to maximise the use of social, and data analysis to grow the right customer base. They learnt what it takes to run effective social media campaigns, hook new audiences and generate more bookings.

The course was delivered by Anthony Rawlins, Managing Director at Digital Visitor, voted 2019 Digital Agency of the Year. This multi-award winning social commerce agency help tourism, destination, experience and hospitality brands use digital to attract more visitors from around the corner or around the world.

Following the day, Nathalie Hinds, Executive Education Manager commented:

The sessions included tactics to increase customer leads, boost campaigns, improve content, use micro-influencers and attract more of the right audiences. The day also highlighted the importance of having a crisis management plan, in case things go wrong online and the dos and don’t for each social channel. Facilitators shared with us a rich sample of case study from across the industry to bring best practice alive."

Given its success, the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management is aiming to run the course again in the autumn.
