Ranking successes enhance Surrey’s reputation

The University of Surrey continues to enhance its reputation as one of the UK’s leading universities with strong performances in three national league tables.

Surrey moved up one place to 21st in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024, and remains the number three university in the South East region.

This follows a three-place improvement to the 21st spot in the Guardian University Guide 2024, thanks to improvements in six of the eight indicators.

The University is also ranked 14th in the overall table of the inaugural University Rankings in the Daily Mail.

Neither the Guardian nor the Times league table made use of the 2023 NSS results, which gave the University of Surrey an overall student positivity score of 85.3%*, which ranks fourth in the UK for student satisfaction.

Achievements

University of Surrey President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Max Lu said:

“This year has seen significant achievements in our endeavours to deliver our mission of education, student experience and research. These have been reflected in our rising ranking position, for example, in the National Student Survey, THE Impact rankings and Complete University Guide.

“These latest rankings successes are a further recognition of our community’s hard work and contributions to an outstanding student experience and high-quality teaching. This is integral to our vision for growth, defined by the scale and the impact of everything we do.
