OFTED report quotes CoGDev lab research

Spatial reasoning features strongly in the "Best start in life; Part 3" document released by OFSTED.

Here is a quote from the report: 

"Research suggests that well-developed spatial reasoning in the early years leads to better mathematical achievement in primary school, even allowing for demographic factors or language skills."

We were very encouraged that our research evidence was quoted: 

"Research also emphasises the importance of children’s spatial reasoning, as well as their understanding of number. It suggests that spatial skills at the age of 5 may ‘explain a significant proportion of the variance in mathematics achievement in the early primary school years’". (Gilligan, Flouri & Farran, 2017)
