New Guildford School of Acting shows on sale for spring 2023

The Guildford School of Acting (GSA) will open its doors to the public and give audiences a glimpse of future world-class acting talents, as part of their spring production season.

    GSA will put on seven unique productions to be performed in February and March 2023. 

    This year’s list of performances will include a brand-new production, Waiting for the End of the World by Nick Revell, as well as an adapted version of The Velveteen Daughter by Caroline Wigmore and Jennifer Green. These new writings have been developed through workshops with our students and the writers.

    The five other shows on offer include: 

    • Away by Michael Gow 
    • The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee by William Finn and Rachel Sheinkin 
    • Coram Boy by Jamila Gavin 
    • Company by Stephen Sondheim and George Furth 
    • Applause by Betty Comden, Adolph Green, Charles Strouse and Lee Adams. 

    Dr Catherine McNamara, Head of GSA, said:  

    “We're delighted to present seven incredible productions showcasing the exceptional talents of our Acting, Musical Theatre, and Actor-Musician students, in partnership with our Theatre Production and Stage and Production Management students.  

    “This is a truly unique and special season, as we have the pleasure of presenting award-winning shows highlighting various societal issues, as well as two brand new, never-performed productions developed through workshops with our students and the writers. We hope to see some of you at our shows!”
