Presenters from the successful workshop 'Revisiting the Legacy of Taiwan's Sunflower Movement and Hong Kong's Umbrella Movement', have published their reflections on the legacy of those pivotal events 10 years ago.
After the successful workshop 'Revisiting the Legacy of Taiwan's Sunflower Movement and Hong Kong's Umbrella Movement', co-organised the Hong Kong Studies Hub of the University of Surrey and the Taiwan Research Hub of the University of Nottingham, presenters published their reflections on the legacy of those events a decade ago.
The three articles are:
- A Decade Later: What is the Lasting Impact of the Sunflower and Umbrella Movements on Political Activism by Dr Chun-Yi Lee.
- Searching for Identity: Context and Legacy of the Hong Kong Umbrella Movement by Dr Malte Kaeding.
- The Coming of an Overseas Hong Konger Identity and Taiwan-Hong Kong Identity: Reflection on the Legacy of the Umbrella Movement by Dr Desmond Sham.
These articles focusing on the Hong Kong Umbrella Movement were edited by the Taiwan Insight team a Nottingham and are co-published on the Hong Kong Studies Association Hong Kong Insight Blog.
