International Law Training in Kyrgyzstan Features Surrey Law Expert
Dr Arman Sarvarian, Reader in Public International Law, recently contributed his expertise to a significant international law training event in Kyrgyzstan. He delivered an online presentation to participants at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic in Bishkek.
Dr. Sarvarian's presentation focused on the law of succession of states in relation to international treaties, incorporating analysis of the latest reports from both the UN International Court of Justice and the UN Commission on International Law for 2023-2024. His session formed part of a broader training program aimed at strengthening the international law community in Kyrgyzstan.
The event, which attracted 60 participants from government institutions, universities, international organizations, and law firms, was organized under the "Platform on International Law" initiative. This project, managed by Fulbright alumnus Mirbek Sydygaliev, seeks to enhance the capacity of international law specialists in Kyrgyzstan and promote professional development in the field.
Dr. Sarvarian's contribution helped facilitate knowledge exchange between UK and Kyrgyz legal expertise, supporting the development of international law practice in Central Asia.
