Industry placement support for Surrey Pharmaceutical Sciences masters students

International students on the newly launched two-year MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences with Industrial Practice programme will be even more experienced and employable, thanks to a strategic partnership with Twin Group, a leading provider of employability services and placements for university students.

Dr Milan Antonijevic, Programme Director at the University of Surrey, said:

“Surrey is renowned for the high quality of its graduates and has won awards for the employability of its students. This ‘Surrey Advantage’ will be further enhanced by our partnership with Twin Group.

“Our new, cutting-edge MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences successfully prepares people for careers in the industry with specialist theoretical knowledge and exceptional laboratory skills. For students doing the programme which includes industrial practice, they also gain vital experience through high quality work placements, which Twin Group will help arrange.”

Students on the programme explore the life of medicine, from drug discovery to manufacture and quality control. They are immersed in the development of world-class medicine, benefiting from hands-on learning in dedicated laboratory facilities and with industry experts, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the developments and challenges of the global pharmaceutical industry.

Caroline Fox, CEO and Founder of Twin Group said:

“We will engage with Surrey’s students from the outset, preparing them for jobs and placements by enhancing their transferable skills and readying them for interviews. We will support students through their interactions with companies to secure placements and monitor their engagement and progress during their year in industry.

“As the higher education landscape in the UK faces uncertainty, Twin Group firmly believes that 1+1 programmes, like Surrey’s MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences with Industrial Practice, will play an increasingly vital role, benefiting students and employers alike, while also contributing to institutional success.”
