European Commission awards remote work project to Drs Thomopoulos and Xu of the Future of Work Research Centre
A new Horizon Europe project about remote work (R-Map) has been launched, Dr Nikolas Thomopoulos and supported by Dr Tracy Xu (SHTM), both of whom are members of the Future of Work Research Centre.
The project’s purpose is to research and analyse the impact of remote working arrangements, the disparities between urban and rural regions of Europe that implement such arrangements, and to explore possible opportunities to bridge the urban-rural divide. The findings will help shape future policy recommendations on creating environments conducive to remote working in accordance with local and regional needs.
R-Map will include both single and cross-border cases for analysis, monitoring current remote working trends across Greece, the United Kingdom, Italy, Turkey, Netherlands-Germany, and Austria-Switzerland.
The project is slated to run until January 2027. To learn more about the project, please visit its page on the European Commission’s website.
