Dr. Arman Sarvarian Represents Côte d’Ivoire Before International Court of Justice
Dr. Arman Sarvarian, Reader in Public International Law, recently had the distinguished honor of appearing before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) as counsel to the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire. The advisory proceedings on Obligations of States in respect of Climate Change, address important legal questions related to global climate responsibilities.
Dr. Sarvarian presented Côte d’Ivoire’s arguments during the hearings, which are available for viewing on the official United Nations channel and documented in the verbatim record. He expressed gratitude to the Ivorian government for their trust and to Lea Di Salvatore for her assistance.
These proceedings, which underscore the intersection of international law and climate responsibility, will continue until December 13.
