COVID-19 vaccination: Your questions answered
On this momentous week, as the COVID-19 vaccination programme begins in the UK, the Surrey Healthy Ageing Research Partnership at the University of Surrey, is delighted to host a live virtual meeting, on Tuesday 15th December, with members of its world renowned immunology team to provide more information on the vaccine.
Chaired by Deborah Dunn-Walters, Professor of Immunology and Chair of the British Society for Immunology task force on COVID-19 and Immunology, the discussion will be led by Dr Natalie Riddell, Lecturer in Immunology and Ageing and will cover the development of the vaccine, how it works, the immune response and level of protection it produces, and its safety. This will be followed by a Q&A session where the team will answer any questions or concerns about the vaccine.
Dr Natalie Riddell, said: “The development of the COVID-19 vaccine has been dominating the news agenda for a number of weeks and has led to a number of unsubstantiated rumours and theories. This has made it is hard to distinguish between what is real and what is speculation. We want to help our local community stay as informed as possible about the vaccine and ease any concerns they may have.”
The virtual meeting will take place on Tuesday 15th December from 2-4pm via Zoom. For further details or to register to attend please email sharp@surrey.ac.uk
