Alumna included in '30 under Thirty' awards for 2025
Congratulations to Ilaria Basile who has been named as one of the EN '30 under Thirty class of 2025'. Ilaria studied International Events Management BSc at the University of Surrey and graduated in 2019. This is a prestigious award and we're thrilled for Ilaria!

The EN 30 under Thirty programme is in its ninth year and it is a year-long scheme to help celebrate and nurture emerging talent across the global exhibition industry.
Focusing primarily on three pillars, the EN 30 under Thirty programme provides its successful applicants with regular networking, educational, and speaking opportunities throughout the year in an effort to allow all alumni to foster new and long-lasting connections within the exhibition community.
Ilaria, Operations Manager for Clarion Events, says: "I’m absolutely honoured to be recognised as one of EN’s 30 Under Thirty for 2025. It’s a fantastic milestone in my career and a real testament to my passion and dedication to the events industry."
She adds: "My time at Surrey gave me a solid foundation in event operations, strategic thinking, and problem-solving. The practical learning approach and industry exposure really helped me develop the skills needed to thrive in the fast-paced world of events and ultimately achieve this recognition."

For students wondering how they can fast-track their career, Ilaria advises:
"Get as much hands-on experience as possible – whether through internships, volunteering, or part-time roles at events. Networking is key, so start building relationships within the industry early on. Be adaptable, proactive, and always open to learning—opportunities often come from the most unexpected places!"
Dr Yanning Li, Ilaria's tutor shares his delight at Ilaria's success:
“The event management subject team at Surrey is thrilled to learn about Ilaria’s fantastic achievement in the event industry! From Ilaria’s first class academic performance in her studies, to her first class honours degree, to her '30 under Thirty' awards for 2025, we are so glad to witness how hardworking, great team spirit, extensive creativity and rigorous analytical skills all have come together and contributed to an event professional’s success. Well done, Ilaria!”
