2021 Telethon Campaign
During February and March, we’re running our annual telethon, this sees university students ring our alumni to update them on news from Surrey and ask for a donation to our Forever Surrey Fund.
In our last telethon, we raised an incredible £140,000 which helped:
- 58 students who were in serious financial need due to unexpected circumstances, such as parental bereavement or sickness, were provided with a life-changing hardship grant.
- 10 students from disadvantaged background who were given a bursary to complete their training year in industry – drastically improving their employability prospects.
- 16 student clubs and societies, who were given funding to give our students the chance to achieve remarkable accomplishments in a range of diverse fields.
Due to the ongoing pandemic this year sees our first remote telethon, with all callers working safely from their homes and due to the student hardship caused by the pandemic any donations matter more now than ever before.
