Clinical Placements during COVID-19 Pandemic
Clinical placements form a fundamental part of the Health Sciences’ programmes and will continue to take place during the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure students are able to meet learning outcomes and progress on the course. To mitigate risk the University, placement providers and students are all expected to contribute to the risk assessment of clinical placements. Whilst it is likely that the risk to most students attending placement will be very low, we ask that all students complete the steps below:
- Refer to the latest NHS guidance on who is at high risk from coronavirus
- Contact your Field Lead if you believe you are at high risk from coronavirus.
Students that fall within the high risk category may be asked to complete an occupational health screening form and may be required to make an appointment with the occupational health team. It is essential that you refer to the guidance carefully and complete these steps. Students should also keep the School updated if their health/circumstances change in a way that could affect their risk category (i.e. development of a new illness, starting new treatment or pregnancy).
