Studentships will cover, for three years or pro-rata part-time: full fees (at home or international rate), an annual stipend (c.£16,000), and a training grant for research and development expenses.
About
The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management is pleased to announce a doctoral studentship for postgraduate research starting in October 2023. The award will be made to an outstanding postgraduate researcher whose work aligns with research areas of our research centres. Find out more about our research areas.
Awards can be made to UK or international candidates.
Applications will be assessed on:
- Personal statement
- Educational and professional achievements
- Feasibility and quality of the research proposal
- Fit to the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management research areas
- Fit to the proposed supervisory team.

This studentship is open to any UK or international candidates.

Apply to the Hospitality, Tourism, Transport and Events PhD programme.
The funding application form (docx) should be completed electronically and returned to Dr Jason Chen (l.chen@surrey.ac.uk). The deadline for applications is 9 December 2022. Late applications will not be accepted. Applicants will also need to apply to the University of Surrey through the PhD programme page, clearly stating that you are applying for the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management doctoral studentships 2023.
