Mathematics and physics undergraduate scholarship 2024 entry

The scholarship is awarded as a £5,000 accommodation fee waiver or cash award in the first year of study only. It is open to UK offer-holders for Mathematics or Physics BSc or MPhys/MMath courses.

Successful applicants will demonstrate academic excellence and a passion for their subject area. The scheme is application based and awards are decided by a scholarship awards panel.

International offer-holders for mathematics and physics courses should apply for the International Excellence scholarship instead.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must:

Be a UK student, with home fee status
Hold an offer to study a full time bachelors/integrated masters degree programme at FHEQ Level 4 (first-year entry).

Applicants for the foundation year cannot be considered for this award.

How to apply

The scholarship is application based. Surrey offer-holders may apply online.

Applications open 1 November 2023 and will be reviewed monthly. They will be reviewed more regularly between January and April 2024.

You must have made your course application through UCAS by 31 January 2024. Applications for this scholarship will close on 30 April 2023.

You must have an offer from the University to complete the scholarship application form. Applications without a valid student ID/UCAS ID and offer will not be assessed.
