The scholarship is awarded as a £5,000 accommodation fee waiver or cash award in the first year of studies only. The Literature and Languages Undergraduate Scholarship (2023 entry) is open to UK offer-holders for first year entry to Bachelor degree courses in the School of Literature and Languages at the University of Surrey. Successful applicants will demonstrate academic excellence and a passion for their subject area. The scheme is application based and awards are decided by a scholarship awards panel. International offer-holders for Literature and Languages courses should apply for the International Excellence scholarship instead.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must:

Be a UK student, with home fee status
Hold an offer to study a full-time Bachelors/Integrated Masters degree programme at FHEQ Level 4 (first-year entry) to any Literature or Languages programme. Applicants for the Foundation Year cannot be considered for this award.

The scholarship is application based. Surrey offer-holders may apply online at https://forms.office.com/r/xpxMdx8XAk.

Applications are reviewed monthly starting in November 2022 and will be reviewed more regularly between January and May 2023. You must have made your course application through UCAS by 25 January 2023. Applications for this scholarship will close on 12 May 2023. You must have an offer from the University to complete the Scholarship application form. Applications without a valid student ID/UCAS ID and offer will not be assessed.
