Tonmeister graduates receive music industry nominations

Our Tonmeister graduates continue to make their mark in the music industry with four of them receiving nominations for prestigious awards.

Erdo Groot, who graduated in 1984, has been shortlisted for a Grammy for Best Surround Sound Album for Shostakovich: Symphony No. 7 (Paavo Järvi and Russian National Orchestra). The winners will be announced on 15 February.

And three alumni will find out if they have won their categories in the Music Producers Guild Awards on 3 February.

Charlie Andrew (2004) is hoping to win a second award, having won Breakthrough Producer of the Year in 2013. He has been nominated for UK Producer of the Year for Alt J’s Every Other Freckle.

Olga Fitzroy (2005) is nominated for Recording Engineer of the Year for Eliot Sumner’s I Followed You Home, and Brett Cox (2013) is hoping to follow in Charlie’s footsteps and take Breakthrough Engineer of the Year for Marika Hackman’s We Slept At Last.

Good luck to all.
