Members of the public are welcome to visit the Library and Learning Centre for reference use of printed resources, limited access to online resources, limited access to online information resources, and for quiet study purposes.
Visiting the Library
You can obtain a Day Pass (valid for one day) or a Visitor Pass to enter the Library. A Visitor Pass is valid initially for 3 months and can be renewed for 6 months at a time thereafter.
To apply for either, please come with personal Photo ID (e.g. driving licence) to the Learning Centre Support Hub on Level 1 or to the Library ground level Reception desk. You must also provide a valid email address.
Joining the Library
Visitors who want to borrow books may join the Library, through SCONUL Access or Alumni membership (if eligible), one of the reciprocal access schemes or as a paying external member. There are different arrangements for Surrey Research Park employees.
To join the Library as an external member, please come to the Ask Me desk on Learning Centre Level 1 to complete a registration form. You must bring personal ID and payment or a SCONUL confirmation message with your ID card from your home institution (if applicable). Your library card can normally be issued at the time of registration.
During semester, the Ask Me desk is open Monday – Friday 09:00-20:00, and Saturday and Sunday 14:00-18:00.
- If you are making a special journey or coming from a distance we advise you to telephone the Library first (01483 689235) to check that a library card can be produced for you.
- Please consult the Opening Hours calendar for out of semester opening hours:
